About Us Guided West Coast Motorcycle Tours

MAKING LASTING MEMORIES
The guides of West Coast Motorcycle Tours have been touring the Western United States for over two decades. We have a passion for exploration and motorcycle riding that shines through in everything we do. We love showing our guests our unique corner of the globe, and making new friends along the way. That’s why we do it.
Come with us on one of our very special motorcycling adventures through the Old West.
Is it a unique place? You bet it is, and one that’s full of history. From the days of ‘49ers prospecting for gold to the settlers guiding their wagon trains through the passes of the Rockies and Sierras, the lore of the West has attracted adventurers from across the globe. We have ridden the West’s hidden corners and know its special places and peoples. Nowhere else are you going to find such a unique place to ride and, as motorcycling enthusiasts native to the area, we are well-suited to share it with you.
Our guides are professional tour and motorcycle guides
Our guides grew up riding motorcycles and take pride in sharing with our guests our part of the world while making sure they have a unique and special experience, one they will remember for a lifetime. And while we love adventure, we don’t skimp on safety. Our tour guides are trained in CPR and first aid, must-have skills when exploring off the beaten path.
We stay in the best middle-class hotels available
We choose primarily small and, where possible, family-run hotels of superior quality where the proprietor cares about the quality of your stay. By staying in smaller hotels, you will receive the personal attention you deserve while experiencing more of the local hospitality and culture.
The size of our tours is limited
Our mission is to provide personalized service to our clients. To do this we keep our tours small with no more than 8 bikes on a single trip. Unless prior arrangements are made and agreed to by WCMT, each tour must have no fewer than 4 bikes ridden by guests. Riding with a small group maximizes the potential for good friendships to develop between guests—friendships that can last a lifetime.
You have the freedom to ride as you like
We all know that motorcycle riding is all about freedom, and if you would prefer to strike out on your own, our detailed maps and route sheets make it possible. We detail the best sights, rest stops and lunch spots along the way. So, go ahead and explore at your own pace!
Choose the motorcycle that best suits you
Whether you ride your own bike or one of the great bikes available at a discounted rate from our tour start and end location, Dubbelju Motorcycle Rentals of San Francisco, you will want a motorcycle that has, at least, a top case for 3- to 4-day tours, or all the bags necessary for longer tours. To ensure that you have sufficient fuel for the journey, and that you will be comfortable when we cover longer distances, we recommend your motorcycle be an 800cc or larger displacement.
We know motorcycle touring
Our owners and guides have ridden motorcycles many tens of thousands of miles throughout the West, North America, Middle East and Europe. We have utilized other motorcycle touring companies in both Europe and North America and have taken numerous solo trips and trips with friends and partners from Baja to the Balkans. For us, motorcycling is, like the American West, fundamentally about personal freedom. We design our tours with that philosophy in mind. Therefore our tours do not force you to prepay for meals you may not want. Nor do we require you to “stay with the group” during the day. Within the limitation of the roads available, you may ride YOUR route at YOUR pace with the caveat that all riders arrive at that night’s hotel prior to sunset.
West Coast Motorcycle Tours is motivated by a love of motorcycling and a desire to share the uniqueness, beauty, and freedom of California and the American West with other riders. Our passion shines through in everything we do. We are ready to Ride the West. Come join us!
