GENERAL QUESTIONS
Your credit card will be charged the moment you complete your booking, for the amount shown in your booking agreement. If your booking is made far enough in advance, you will only be charged a 25% prepay as a reservation deposit. You will receive an automated invoice for the remaining balance. This reservation system is based on live availability. In the rare event that we can’t fulfill our commitment, we will work with you to offer alternatives or refund your payment.
Absolutely. If you have a group of 4 or more riders who would like to book a tour date different from and/or shorter or longer than those tours listed on the Tour page, call us and we will do our best to work with you.
All renters of a street legal motorcycle must have a valid original motorcycle endorsed driver’s license that needs to be presented at time of motorcycle pickup. Learner’s permits are not sufficient. All riders with a non-US driver’s license must provide a valid passport or government-issued ID card as a secondary form of ID at the time of pickup. Driver’s licenses printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc.) must be complemented by an international driver’s license. You can obtain an international permit through your local auto club, such as AAA.
WCMT strongly recommends that you take out adequate travel insurance, including medical, evacuation, and repatriation coverage, and that you extend your coverage to include trip cancellation.
CDWs limit the renter’s responsibility to a set maximum amount in the event of damage. Without a CDW, the renter is responsible for all damage to or loss of the motorcycle.
The minimum tour cancellation fee is the amount of your reservation deposit, typically 25%. You will find complete information on our cancellation policies in our Terms and Conditions.
If the final payment is not received on time, West Coast Motorcycle Tours has the right to treat this reservation as canceled and you will lose the entirety of your down payment.
Changes must be requested by email. Client-requested changes after invoicing are subject to the fee indicated in the Terms and Conditions. Any date changes are subject to a cancellation fee.
Yes, the motorcycle rental company you select (we recommend Dubbelju), will require you to leave a credit card security deposit with the rental provider.
You will fall under our cancellation policy, and refunds may not apply. There will be no refunds for tardiness. If you show up late to pick up your rental motorcycle or miss part of your tour, we will assist you where reasonable so that you may receive the services booked for the remaining tour duration. West Coast Motorcycle Tours strongly recommends that you take out adequate trip cancellation insurance prior to your journey.
If a tour has not reached the minimum required number of participants, we will promptly inform you of your options. Typically, WCMT offers one or a combination of the following options, up to 30 days prior to event start:
- Increased rate
- Altered route
- Changed service
- Postponed event date
- Canceled event
We recommend that you wait to purchase any airline tickets or non-refundable accommodations if your trip is pending due to inadequate booking.
MOTORCYCLE RENTAL QUESTIONS
Motorcycles will be booked faster during the high season of May through August. In some cases, the entire fleet of rental motorcycles can be booked several months in advance. We suggest making your motorcycle reservations as soon as possible.
You are responsible for all documents required by law. Learner’s permits are not sufficient for the rental of a street legal bike, or participation in our tours. There will be no refunds for failing to have necessary legal documents.
MOTORCYCLE TOUR QUESTIONS
Tours are booked faster during the high season of May through August. In some cases, a motorcycle tour may be completely booked a year in advance. For this reason, we suggest making reservations as soon as possible. If you happen to make a last minute decision to tour, give us a call and we will do our best to include you in a planned tour or, if there are 4 or more in your group, we will work to arrange a special tour just for your group!
Of course, so long as you meet the requirements of the tour, such as minimum age and riding experience. In order to safely enjoy a guided motorcycle tour and the riding environment, we recommend at least 1 year of riding experience, and at least 5000 miles (8000 kilometers) ridden.
Every part of the globe has its challenges for riders. The West has generally well maintained and marked roads. We will most often be riding secondary and back roads (all paved) with some freeways in the mix when it makes sense. Many of the roads are maintained by local government and therefore road quality can vary dramatically. Make sure to watch for road patches we call “tar snakes” because they can be quite slick. Also, the West is deer and varmint country so we must stay alert for their possible presence on and near the road.
Our guides use bluetooth communication systems, generally Sena products. We find the ability to seamlessly communicate with fellow riders greatly increases everyone’s safety, security, and ride enjoyment. If you have your own bluetooth communication system, you are encouraged to bring it so that you may converse with the guide during the rides. For those without such communication systems, we will review hand signals prior to starting the tour.
